ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY/RESIDENT NEGLECT & WRONGFUL DEATH
Earl Scherrer suffered from a traumatic brain injury and required 24 hour care. Liberty Manor, an assisted living facility, failed to properly supervise Earl and train its staff to understand and meet his care needs. Earl died at the age of 36 from complications associated with eating foreign objects. At autopsy, the medical examiner found numerous plastics bags, ketchup packets, paper towels, and candy wrappers in his stomach and small intestines. The assisted living facility refused to accept responsibility for his death.
